  4. ARTISOFT ANNOUNCES NEW CENTRAL STATION FOR LANS
  5. Provides Laptop and Printer Connections to Network

  7. (TUCSON, Ariz--May 20, 1991)--Artisoft announced today the
  8. introduction of a new multi-port hardware device for local area
  9. network communications called Central Station.  It will allow a
  10. laptop and two printers to be connected anywhere on an LANtastic or
  11. Novell ethernet network running thin coax or twisted-pair ethernet
  12. cabling.  Central Station is scheduled to ship by mid-August but the
  13. price has not yet been announced.

  15. Artisoft's Central Station is compatible with LANtastic or Novell
  16. ethernet networks.  It offers a serial or parallel network connection
  17. for a laptop and can be attached anywhere on the network to either
  18. thin or twisted-pair ethernet cabling.  Central Station has one
  19. parallel and two serial ports available for remote and/or local
  20. printing while simultaneously connecting a laptop to the network.

  22. "Central Station is the ideal slotless solution for laptop and
  23. printer connections to a network," said Jack Schoof, Artisoft's
  24. President and CEO.  "It exceed the benefits of combining several
  25. existing products at a fraction of the price."

  27. Enhancement modules on PEROM (programmable erasable ROM) diskettes
  28. will be available in the future for Central Station to provide
  29. additional unique and innovative connectivity solutions.
